Phoenician > There's only 2 utilities spots, but I had totally forgotten near Pack Media Studios, so your idea is still very much a viable pick to keep in heed. This is why I'm recruiting you guys, cause you lot'll come up with stuff I will totally miss!

The idea of turning Free Parking into Central Park keeps nagging at me...thoughts? Equally far as I know, the space serves no purpose, other than maybe the possibility of a gamble carte advancing you there.

I accept absolutely NO thought what to practice near the 2 revenue enhancement spots. I'd similar to go along their purpose at least (which is to take money from you).

I'g off from piece of work most of the week, then I think I'm going to work on the holding cards. Since I'm keeping the prices the same, I can exercise everything simply the space name, which can easily be edited in later. Information technology will certainly give me something to do, since I spent HOURS today making adjustments to the board to make all the spaces as even as possible. I actually got ahold of the Monopoly board's font too.

Andrea - [SailorV77 at yahoo dot com]

I was looking at the monopoly matter and here is my idea for the spaces: Gargoyle Clans The first spot is the clan name and the following spots are the leaders and or representative of the clans. I too added the names of their protectorates/homes on some clans.

Mediterranean Baltic
Xanadu Clan Fu-Dog

The following spots are for the clans that currently take no data bachelor.
Oriental Vermont Connecticut
Pukhan New Olympian Loch Ness

Back to the regular format
St. Charles States Virginia
Mayan Association Zafiro Pyramid
St. James Tennessee New York
Ishimura Clan Kai Katana (Fitting
since she moves to
New York eventually.)
Kentucky Indiana Illinois
Avalon Association Gabriel Boudicca (Or Ophelia)
Atlantic Ventnor Marvin Gardens
London Clan Una Knights Spur
Pacific North Carolina Pennsylvania
Labyrinth Association Talon Delilah
Boardwalk Park Place
Manhattan Clan Wyvern Castle (Goliath should be a gamepiece)

Railroads: Items of Magic
Phoenix Gate, Heart of Odin, Grimorum, Praying Gargoyle
Merely the idea Phoenician posted was cool too.

Thats a game that I would pay a pretty penny for.

My husband says Go should be the Clocktower or Castle Wyvern. The Jail should exist Get To The Rookery and The Rookery, and Free Parking might exist Go To The Movies. Those are his suggestions:)

I haven't played Monopoly in years. I have the dinosaur version only not an original on me. Are the four corners similar Starting time/Go, Jail, Free Parking, etc? I'thousand certain they can easily be customized. Specially the Jail, which is the precinct where Elisa works. Which is it again? I dunno about the Start/Get one. I continue thinking of Glide for some reason just it's kinda lame, too. Complimentary Parking? Uh... I am such a bare today. Broadway Goes To Hollywood blazon of thing? Greenbacks in stocks on Xanatos Enterprises? *shrug* It should be piece of cake to customize. I'm but kinda spacey right now. I call back it's a great idea:)

It would exist easy to continue subsequently "Angels in the Night". However, it would probably involve anime-esque plot holes y'all can drive a truck through and no one wants that.

You can watch the world devoured in its pain, strange...

I'm not the biggest monopoly histrion, but I think if you did a Xanatos Enterprises-theme on the board, information technology should be where they railroads usually are as opposed to Utilities.

I hateful . . . Scarab Corporation, Gen-U-Tech Systems, Pack Media Studios, & Xanatos Structure -- heh, I'd get a boot trying to observe a way to own all that.

But then again, its been ages since I've seen a Monopoly Lath game . . . are there four spaces for Utilities likewise? If so, and so I judge information technology doesn't matter . . . but from I remember I think its Electric and Gas/Water-something-or-other . . .

Phoenician
"The suspense is terrible . . . I hope it lasts" -- Willy Wonka

Oh, undecisive mind, how you badger me then....

I keep changing my darn mind on the Monopoly front. My board folds in 6ths, and it'due south going to exist hella difficult to post my new board on top of it, so I'k going back and using the old one from the crappy make-your-own kit instead, since that's in 4ths. I'll have to get someone to make me a new box, simply that'south alright, possibly I tin talk my my dad into it.

I take the blank skeleton of the board done now, and human was that abrasive. I did scans of the board, which did come out nice, merely later I inverse my listen and plant out the scans all didn't come out perfectly straight (and thus a PITA to align), I concluded up just using a render online, stretching information technology to scale, and tracing straight lines over it on a new layer.

The next step is to figure out what's going on what space, and this is where I will need some assistance. Fifty-fifty though this is going to be an exclusive re-create, I desire this to appeal to equally many fans as possible in the result that I tin showcase (and perchance auction) information technology off one 24-hour interval. I accept some ideas, but nothing actually etched in rock yet (no pun intended).

For example, I've been looking at the specialized versions of the game, and most of them seem to keep the 4 corner spaces as the original. Should I keep it that mode, or customize them? Either fashion, my personal thought is to go on Become, since it doesn't feel similar a real Monopoly game without information technology.

Anyway, I have some thoughts about making the Utilities into companies Xanatos owns (to proceed a connecting theme), and mayhap making the Railroads locations of some of the Gargoyles clans. Any positive/negative feedback? This is probably going to be the hardest part, since everything else will fall into place depending on what the final layout is like.

The prices are going to be the same, every bit volition be the money, and the championship, take a chance and customs chest cards are only going to be slightly modified based on the infinite proper noun changes. I still desire this to feel similar a Monopoly game!

JURGAN - Your observation reminded me of my primary reason (given over the years) over why whatever continuation of "Gargoyles" would *have* to ignore "Angels in the Nighttime" (even if it didn't ignore the rest of the Goliath Chronicles); "Angels in the Nighttime" had too much of a close-ended experience to it of "The gargoyles have been accustomed at last, Castaway and his followers accept been discredited and are headed for prison, everyone lives happily ever after". It didn't open new doors at the same fourth dimension that it closed sometime ones. "Re-Awakening", "Hunter'southward Moon", and "Phoenix" all ended with the possibility of more adventures, which makes them good open-ended stories.

ALGERNON - Thank you for the link. I hadn't known about that picayune story (or if I had, I'd forgotten about information technology).

Demonskrye: Yous're right that Gargoyles doesn't seem to exist edifice towards a clear ending, but that's the point. Greg's referenced Watchmen a few times, and I recollect that'due south something he took from it- in that location are e'er more than stories to tell. That's why every season ends with "open-ended closure." You tin can and should wrap-up some stories over time, and so each season has its own climax, but in existent life every ending leads to a new beginning. I wouldn't want it any other style.

H.I
H.I.

Greg says in a recent Enquire Greg response that at that place is no way he volition be able to encompass all of Brooklyn's forty years of traveling through time within his lifetime. I don't have a trouble with this idea. Information technology's fully possible that there are parts of Brooklyn's journeying that are more or less of import and interesting than others. The adventures that atomic number 82 to Fu-Dog and Katana joining him are obviously going to have to exist told at some signal. Something like Brooklyn beingness present for the Humility Spell being cast may take a little less priority. Much as I would like to see it and information technology would explain that aspect of gargoyles to readers who don't already know nigh it
meliorate than Brooklyn just mentioning it
, I doubt it's of import enough to exist told earlier a story about Nasville'southward hatching or something.

But this does kind of bring up the question that I've been mulling over for quite a while: Are there always going to be Gargoyles stories that we never get to run into? Fifty-fifty if we got a new weekday Boob tube series, the chief storyline is supposed to comprehend everything upwards to 2198, right? Even if the plot starts jumping forward in time more than and not progressing in roughly existent time or slower, that's a lot of material to cover. I don't intendance almost knowing what Goliath had for breakfast every night, but I do kind of wonder if I'1000 always going to be missing something no matter what happens. Don't get me wrong; I'm grateful for annihilation we do get. Merely if you start following a series of books or movies, unremarkably their edifice to some kind of ending. Film series are frequently trilogies. If you started reading the Harry Potter books, you lot knew at that place was a plan to terminate the series and if you lot start at present, yous know exactly how many books you're committing to. But with Gargoyles it feels similar information technology only keeps going and going and going. Which is good in some ways, but it as well means there's never actually and endgame where you can feel like you've got everything the property has to offering you.

Another possibility for Brooklyn'due south TimeDancer adventures: Brooklyn visiting various moments in New York's by (peradventure all the way back to when it was New Amsterdam under Dutch rule - information technology'd be kind of fun to encounter Brooklyn having a run-in with Peter Stuyvesant - or during the American Revolution when Washington and Howe were clashing near the city in the tardily summer of 1776). Since New York is the gargoyles' new dwelling, it would be neat to see some of its history explored in "Gargoyles", besides as that of their original homeland of Scotland.

We'll probably get the "Dark Ages" spin-off next (if we get more graphic novels, and they include the spin-offs every bit well as the main serial), since Greg had planned to brand that one adjacent, saying that there was a story in information technology that he felt the need to tell. I wonder whether that would have been the beginning of the alliance between Hudson and Prince Malcolm in 971 (the logical beginning for "Dark Ages" - and following upwards immediately upon "Once Upon a Fourth dimension There Were Iii Brothers"), or a story set later in the period (maybe the Hyppolyta story, which nosotros got a glimpse of at "Ask Greg" in the course of the little fic where Goliath'due south telling Elisa about her - which did non include a single name anywhere, and yet left you with no doubt equally to which character was which).

And continue in listen that there may be some clans that died out shortly before 1996. Nosotros only know of the clans that exist in 1996, that doesn't mean there were not more clans live in 1940.

Todd> If what nosotros terminate upwards with for a continuation of "Gargoyles" is graphic novels, which seems the most probable outcome right now, I'm guessing that it'south more probable we'll get either simply the main series or the main series and a rotating slate of spin-offs similar the comic would accept had if it had continued, rather than the main series and one spin-off merely not the others. Then maybe we'll get and arc of "Pendragon" first and if that sells well we'll get an arc of "TimeDancer" and if that sells we'll get an arc of "Dark Ages" and and then on. That's what seems most likely to me, anyways. So nosotros'll probably either meet stories told in the well-nigh advisable spin-off or folded into the storyline of the master series.

Patrick> I agree that information technology'south highly unlikely that about gargoyle clans would have participated in WWII. They Mayan Clan in particular are based in a pretty remote location and may not have ever been aware of the cross-continental conflict. Since most of the surviving clans have survived by living in remote and isolated locations and keeping to themselves, information technology seems unlikely than a whole clan would involve itself in a homo conflict unless their home was under very direct threat. I imagine the London Clan, the clan that nosotros know was in shut proximity to some events of WWII, concluded upward using Griff's disappearance to further justify their policy of not getting involved. But since there are other clans that did alive in parts of the world affected past WWII, it'southward not beyond thinking that a few individual gargoyles might have decided to become involved. And until we know dissimilar, it'southward fun to speculate.

Ask Greg> Greg just said that he has been approached by Warner Bros/DC to world on i (or possibly more) of their direct-to-DVD releases. If it happened, that would be pretty cool. My hope is that if "Spectacular Spider-Human being" doesn't get a third flavor, Disney and/or Marvel will at to the lowest degree consider Greg's thought for straight-to-DVD movies to keep the story. Not an platonic solution to tell stories Greg was hoping to do every bit seasons of the TV series, simply all the same amend than goose egg.

Demonskrye - [<---"George and A dot J dot " at The Ink and Pixel Club]

Non sure what the rationale is for expecting that gargoyles would take gotten involved in WW2. In that location were unabridged countries that did non get involved. If the Swiss didn't get involved when it was going on all around them... why would gargoyles in Guatemala?

Greg in one case said that Demona was probably hoping during World War II that the humans would all wipe each other out (thus saving her some trouble) - simply was unsettled later she found out about Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Perchance that'southward 1 reason why she's been actively pursuing genocide - she can't trust the humans to destroy themselves in a manner that would render the planet habitable for gargoyles (or annihilation else).

DEMONSKRYE - Good point nearly Arthurian Britain, though if Greg gets to do "TimeDancer" only non "Pendragon", he might give Brooklyn a visit to Camelot as a way of telling that story. (He's mentioned before that he'd find ways of transferring the stories he wants to tell from ane bike to some other, depending on which cycles he gets to tell.)

Robby> The implication of the quote equally I read it is that the planes in the episode were Spitfires, simply Greg later establish out that they should have been Hurricanes.

Gargoyles in WWII> I think it's within the realm of possibility that 1 or more than gargoyles of the Ishimura Clan might accept felt equally Griff did and gone against their association's general policy of isolationism to take role in the war. It would definitely exist interesting to run into how Greg would handle the idea of gargoyles in WWII fighting against the allies, if he always chose to practise and then. Information technology could end up beingness a look at the more circuitous reasons that individuals have for fighting; that it isn't ever because they hold or disagree with the big political concepts beingness espoused by one side or the other, but that they come across a need to protect their abode and family. I'm non sure if it'southward something Greg would want to await at in that context, but it's a thought.

While it'south kind of tempting to remember that Demona would support the Nazis even if she didn't actively fight alongside them, I kind of dubiety that she cared much who won the war and who lost, so long as the largest possible number of humans ended up expressionless. Greg has recently said that racial prejudice is probable very confusing to gargoyles, who vary widely in appearance still withal recognize each other as all part of ane species and as equals. Nazism may well just be i more sign to Demona that the human being species is a plague that eats its own and must be destroyed earlier information technology takes downwards her kind and the entire world.

The Ishimura Clan - Because how isolationist they were, I doubt they left Ishimura, even during the state of war.
The Mayan Clan - Again, very remote, I doubt it.
The Pukhan Clan - Not encarmine likely, merely who knows?
The Xanadu Clan - Don't they more often than not breed beasts and protect the beasts? Again, unlikely.

The New Olympian Clan - Definitely not.
The Avalon Clan - Definitely not.

I'd rather like to run across Brooklyn visit Camelot and run into what kind of relations King Arthur had with gargoyles during his original reign. Did gargoyles actually live at his court, for example, like the Wyvern clan dwelling at Castle Wyvern under Prince Malcolm? Or did the gargoyles whom he knew live out in the wilds but concur to aid him out when he needed their assistance? How did his knights and the other famous figures at his court (such equally Merlin or Guinevere) feel well-nigh gargoyles, and Arthur's alliance with them? (I've had a suspicion for some time that in the Gargoyles Universe, Mordred might have exploited anti-gargoyle fears when he was making his claim for the throne.)

Another might be the American colonies around 1776, in example the Illuminati really did accept some connectedness to the Founding Fathers and the American Revolution - and Brooklyn might discover some of it. (Note how familiar the Illuminati'due south one-eyed pyramid symbol appears - and also our by speculation about Quincy Hemings' ancestry.) Or mayhap even the U.South. during Theodore Roosevelt'due south administration, when Hemings offset got a task in the White House (I might have been prodded all the more into imagining that after reading "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck" where Scrooge and Teddy Roosevelt become friends - information technology'd exist fun seeing what T.R. would have made of gargoyles).

Bankrupt all the bones in his mitt. I never lose a fight in my dreams:) Is that mutual for other people?

Eek, sounds like much of the room is having a bad get-go to the week. My condolences all around and I promise things start looking amend for you.

OK, since nosotros don't have a topic of conversation currently, hither's one: where would you like to see Brooklyn continue his timedancing adventures that isn't a time and place we already know he will visit? With xl years worth of stories, I'm guessing there are still some that Greg hasn't told u.s. virtually withal and at that place are all kinds of interesting events that Brooklyn could be around for.

The first 1 that came to me was that Brooklyn could visit the Mayan Clan around the time that the Sun Amulet and the four pendants were created. I think it'southward a bit of gargoyle history that I'd like to know more than almost. What was the clan's relationship with the local Mayan people like? What promprted the creation of the Amulet? Why are in that location iv pendants? How were the first gargoyles to conduct them chosen?

I had an interesting dark at work...

Apparently, a bleed hole in the shop (for our coolers) was massivly clogged, down 220 feet. It was stinking up the store all weekend, and it took them time to pin down the source and get a team in to drill down and fix it. I was in the backroom most of the night, so I didn't have to deal with nigh of it, but DAYUM was information technology bad. Smelled like old rotting garbage and sour milk.

Took them 8 hours to prepare information technology (and they had to get back to the shop to get more cable!), and while y'all can still smell a little fleck, it's 1000x better than information technology was at the worst point.

Now duing all of this, our feight lift is going AGAIN (they never gear up it correct, I swear). My boss did warn me, and I got ii uses out of it earlier it died and got stuck almost an inch from the superlative. I didn't realize the motor was STILL running until I was paged downstairs, so I might have accidently killed it fifty-fifty more. Certain was fun dragging down overstock to exist worked by paw /sarcasm, though I tin can say the 3 year old in me was about happy to watch the packages of toilet newspaper tumble down the stairs like slinkies.

Then with one problem fixed, now they take to get someone out to fix the lift for like the 6th fourth dimension in less than a twelvemonth.

And so I get home like 20 minutes ago, and realize, I STINK, similar sour milk and garbage. And I just did my laundry yesterday. Febreeze to the rescue!

But I yet would ahve to say a broken arm trumps all that.

Since today was St. Andrew'southward Twenty-four hour period (see my concluding post), I decided to gloat information technology by rereading "Clan-Building Volume Two" (because of all the Scottish history and Scottish setting in both stories) and Rosa's rejected "history of the McDuck family" pages in "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck" (which covers the McDucks' adventures in Scottish history from the edifice of Hadrian's Wall to the Norman Conquest, including an encounter with Macbeth).

BISHANSKY - Nobody will ever learn about Demona'south measurements; she'd never let anyone go that close to her with a record measure.

Thirteenth in the name of finding a topic here shortly so we don't have to resort to Demona'southward measurements once more.

Demonskrye> I should have clarified this before, only the make-your-ain board is not an official Monoply production, more than similar a knock-off, so the corner squares take their own things instead. My plan is to keep them the same as the existent thing (with small-scale modifications of course to fit the theme, but with the same purpose).
